TÖSED is founded in 1998 by Turkish and Belgian businessperson of Turkish origin living in Belgium who wish the increasing development of the relations and mutual understanding between Turkey, Belgium and especially European Union; enlarge their horizon by meeting other people having similar vision level; believe that opening of new channels of communication will spiritually and ideologically enrich them and their environment.

In 2004, it turned to be a non-profit association according to Belgian Law while, during first years of its existence, it operated as a friendship group active in line with its objectives.

The opening of TÖSED in Turkish is “Turkish Private Sector Association” while in English it means “Turkish Business Association”.

TÖSED conducts its activities in line with its objectives with no relation to the political parties and independent of political views.

TÖSED endeavour to bring together persons active in private sector for the following aims:

Prepare possibilities to increase the professional dialogue and friendship between the members;

Prepare the ground for its members to develop their professional and social environment, to bring them together with the selected business, cultural and political persons in Europe to establish bridges of comprehension and emotional nature;

Conduct activities to support the constructive efforts reinforcing the membership of Turkey to European Union;

Contribute to the establishment of “positive” image of Turkish starting in the immediate neighbourhood, in Belgium (and to the extent possible in large environs);

Increase the extent of the relation with Turkey, deepen the knowledge of Turkey and keep alive the interest to Turkey of the members;

Create opportunities to support the Turkish community in Belgium;

In addition to above, TÖSED targets to strengthen the friendship between the members and also to approach the Turkish origin Belgian business world to the business world in Belgium and in Europe.

TÖSED is founded on equality, friendship, mutual respect and productiveness and has currently more than 100 members.

The members are either entrepreneurs or professional managers in Belgian an international ventures.

TÖSED contributed to the establishment of positive opinion regarding Turkey and Turkish community in Europe and especially in Belgium either through individual activities of the members or activities within the context of the association.
